Capital Giving

Constantly Improving Our Facilities

We are fortunate to have generous donors who support both the operating and capital needs so we can provide strong programming for today's youth. Using a disciplined capital planning process, Northern Star links capital investments to strategic and operational plans. We're committed to making improvements at our two council service centers and eight camp properties located in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Leaders. For Life. Capital Campaign

The Leaders. For Life. Capital Campaign recently raised over $15 million to:

  • Create a Leadership Center at Cargill Park adjacent to Base Camp where leadership development training will be provided to all youth, Scout and non-Scout. This state-of-the-art program facility, opening in 2017, will also serve as our headquarters.
  • Build Cub camping accommodations and improve existing facilities at Stearns Camp to enhance the experience for all visitors.
  • Expand a Property Maintenance Endowment Fund to preserve the capital improvements we make.

We're always seeking contributions for these important and exciting projects.

Support for Ongoing Capital Needs

Outside of a major capital campaign, donations are also needed for ongoing capital projects - especially at our camp properties. From program equipment that needs to be replaced, to campsite shelters and family camp cabins that need to be built, there are opportunities of all sizes for those who might be interested in funding them.
