Innovation Program and Grants

Dollars available for ideas to strengthen Scouting

Have an innovative idea to make Scouting better, but need money to get it off the ground?

The Council Innovation Fund is our unique way to support new ideas that improve local Scouting. Grants totalling $50,000 a year are distributed to units, districts, council committees, and even individuals for ideas that bring Scouting to a new level.

How to apply

To apply for a grant you must

  • Complete an application
  • Secure a staff member champion for the project
  • Present your proposal to our Council Innovation Committee. The committee meets bimonthly to review projects.

Recommended ideas go to our Council Board of Directors for final approval.

Grants have ranged from $300-$50,000 funding a range of projects including our Lion Cub program to expand Scouting to kindergartners, a space camp pilot/NASA space station downlink day, online camp planning enhancements, Islamic outreach staff and materials, and development of a leadership assessment tool.
