Project Management Workshop Offered for Members Ages 13 – 20

A Terrific Opportunity To Learn a Life Skill

Everything in life is a project! Learning project management skills early will greatly benefit youth throughout their life. Our members are invited to join other Twin Cities youth (ages 13 - 20) for these upcoming community-wide training sessions beginning in late July.

There are two levels of courses, with no prerequisites.  These will be held in alternating calendar quarters. “Fundamentals” is more in depth than “Introduction”. Resources used are from the PMI Education Foundation (www.pmief.org). 

What and When

  • Fundamentals of Project Management – 3-Day Session: July 22nd (1-3 PM), 26th (6-8 PM) & 29th (1-3 PM)

  • Introduction to Project Management – One-Day Session: October 28 at the University of Scouting

Where

  • St. Paul Community College, 235 Marshall Ave, St Paul, MN 55102

    • Free parking at Northern Star Council Office East (393 Marshall Avenue, a 10 minute easy walk to SPCC), or $5/day at SPCC campus parking.

How

  • Registration Fee: $20.

Why

  • Learning project management will help in Scouting, school, business and in even in an individual’s personal life. 

  • Fundamentals class includes NOCTI (www.nocti.org) Digital Badge assessment. Digital Badge is a great credential for building resumes for college and job applications.

  • Satisfies Project Management requirements for BSA Venturing Pathfinder Award.
