Retired Police Chief Michael Aschenbrener Spurgeon Award Recipient

Congratulations Mike!

Recently retired from Mendota Heights Police Department Chief Mike Aschenbrener spent over 30 years of his professional career associated with the growth and support of Law Enforcement Exploring. During those years Chief Aschenbrener made a significant impact on the lives of numerous young men and women who ultimately chose law enforcement as their own life's work.

Early in his career, Chief Aschenbrener organized the Forest Lake Police Department Exploring Post. During this time he was a strong advocate for the Exploring Program at all levels including the MN Law Enforcement Exploring Association. His commitment to training his post's Explorers and others involved in state and local activities and competitions, extended beyond learning the technical skills, to include leadership, teamwork and civic responsibility.

Following his years as a post advisor, Chief Aschenbrener continued to support the Law Enforcement Exploring Program through his long-tenured and continued service as a member of the Exploring Committee, Exploring Board of Advisors, Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement Exploring Field and a valued member of the Law Enforcement Exploring Scholarship Selection Committees.

Northern Star Council and the Law Enforcement Exploring community is fortunate to have Chief Aschenbrener among the exemplary leaders serving our youth programs. He is truly a servant leader to Exploring and the consummate professional within the communities he's served.

Congratulations, Chief Aschenbrener, we're honored to have you in our Northern Star Council family!
